Endpoint Inventory

View hardware, operating system, software, network, startup, and health details for every managed endpoint.

What the Inventory Is#

The endpoint inventory is the factual record of what a device is and what is on it. It is collected by the agent directly from the operating system, not assembled from scans of the network.

Because it is read from the device, the inventory is the reference you use when a ticket claims a machine has different hardware, a different version, or different software than expected.

Inventory Sections#

The inventory is divided into seven sections. Open the endpoint from the fleet view and select the section you need:

SectionWhat it contains
HardwareMake, model, serial number, CPU, memory, disk devices, and disk health.
Operating systemVersion, build, architecture, installation date, and activation state.
SoftwareInstalled applications with version and publisher, including unauthorised software detection.
NetworkInterfaces, addresses, listening ports, and active external connections.
Startup itemsPrograms and services configured to start automatically, with their publisher.
UsersLocal accounts, the current operating system user, and recent sign-in activity.
HealthResource usage, uptime, and agent health for the device itself.

Search and Filtering#

  • Search is performed on the server, so it works on a fleet of any size without loading every row.
  • Every inventory list supports sorting, so you can order by version, publisher, or last-seen time.
  • The advanced filter drawer builds filters from the columns of the list and saves them for reuse.
  • Filter by operating system, status, group, tag, and profile to narrow the fleet before you search inside it.

Data Accuracy#

The inventory reports only what can be measured natively. If a value cannot be read because of permissions or hardware limitations, the field shows an explicit unavailable state rather than an approximation.

Why this matters
An inventory that guesses is worse than no inventory. Explicit unavailable states tell you to investigate the device rather than trust a number that was never real.

Frequently Asked Questions#

How current is the inventory?
The inventory is refreshed from agent telemetry. Each section shows when its data was last collected, so you can tell whether a value is recent.
Why does a value show as unavailable?
Some values require operating system permissions or hardware support. The platform reports an explicit unavailable state instead of estimating a value, so you never see a fabricated number.
Can I search software across the whole fleet?
Yes. Use the fleet search and the advanced filter drawer to find every endpoint that has a given application installed.
Is the inventory editable?
No. Inventory values are read from the device. To change them, change the device; the platform records the new state at the next collection.
